Hope Anyway Retreat
October 7th - 10th, 2021
Join Elaine Martens Hamilton, licensed therapist and founder of the Soul Care House, and Leeana Tankersley, writer and speaker, for a weekend retreat in the unparalleled beauty of Orcas Island, Washington.
* Due to the close proxity of a retreat (sharing rooms, being indoors, etc.) we are only able to accommodate vaccinated participants for this event. *
Retreat starts Thursday at 5pm with a delicious glass of bubbly & dinner and ends Saturday at 9pm. (You are welcome to arrive anytime on Thursday after 12. We will be ready for you!) Sunday morning there will be a casual de-brief over morning coffee as everyone heads off to catch ferries and planes, etc.
After months of the unknown, we are ready to meet together and explore the nuanced idea of hope. Aren't we all ready for a little hope?! Leeana and Elaine will guide our weekend as we consider the power of hope (why is it important?), the trouble with hope (is it really worth it or will I just end up disappointed in the end?), and the difference between hoping for something and hoping in something.
We'll lean into questions like: How can I find hope after loss? What are some practical ways I can be more hopeful? What is worthy of my hope? How can I develop more resilience in my relationship with hope?
Here's what you can expect:
>> main session gatherings with interactive elements
>> guided forest walk
>> exercises focused on reflection, writing, and discussion
>> free time to explore the beautiful grounds and the entire island
>> dinners prepared by a personal chef with locally sourced organic, allergen-conscious ingredients. (@botanicalkitchen)
>> a brave sisterhood that will form as a result of our time together
Our focus is helping you identify and take the next step in your own sacred, transformational journey. We invite women of all spiritual backgrounds, emotional journeys and life stages. YOU are welcome!

MEALS
•Evening meals (Thursday through Sunday night) will be prepared for you and enjoyed together.
•During our sessions, we'll provide you with snacks and charcuterie for munching.
•Breakfast and lunch will be on your own. You may want to pick up groceries at the ferry landing market or visit the grocery store in Eastsound before coming to the property. There are kitchens in both the main house and guest house.
•If you’d like to go to a restaurant during downtime, you’ll find those in Eastsound, a 20-25 minute drive. It's a good idea to check before you go to make sure the restaurant is open since some close after the summer season.
DOWN TIME
Here are some things to do:
•Get out on the water. A canoe and a couple kayaks are available for your use. (After you sign a waiver since we can’t swim out and rescue you!)
•Take a drive into the town of Eastsound to do a little shopping and sightseeing.
•Go for a hike. The property sits on 45 acres of private land that you are welcome to explore. Or there are lots of beautiful hiking trails all over Orcas Island.
•Take a soak in one of the two Jacuzzis available. They’re always ready for you.
